This Is The Advanced Guide To Robot Vacuum And Mop

Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos

Robot vacuums and mops are getting more efficient. They pass our cleaning tests, and can handle various floors. Choose models that allow you to choose between multiple modes, self-empty and clean stairs.

Many of the best models work with your smartphone. Find an application that lets you save maps, schedules and select cleaning modes.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

Eufy's gunmetal and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos on the market. It uses lidar to navigate and create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels), and works with the free Eufy Clean application that lets you set schedules and customize the S1's behavior.

The S1 was capable of mapping my downstairs quickly, which has linoleum in the kitchen, dining area, and bathrooms and also a medium-pile and a large rug. It was capable of driving up to walls and even over raised thresholds without any problems. However, it had some difficulty traversing the stairs in one go. The S1 also did an excellent job cleaning hard floors with its mop that moved smoothly on its flat side against the floor and lifting itself when it was near carpet or rugs.

Before each mopping session, the docking station of the S1 automatically empties its dustbin and fills up its water tank with clean filtered ozonated water. The dock also provides a deep-cleaning solution to the water. The S1's tank of water holds enough water for about 12 cleaning sessions before it has to be empty, but it will differ based on how often you use the mop.

Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires periodic maintenance to ensure that it's operating well. You'll need to periodically rinse out the dirty tank to prevent it from becoming clogged. You will also need to clean your sensor and swivel wheel frequently to avoid them getting clogged up with dust or dirt. Overall, the S1 is simple to maintain, especially when compared to other combos which require more effort to maintain.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

This all-in-one robotic mop and vacuum combo from Ecovacs is a powerful option to meet your cleaning needs. The Ecovacs robot vacuum has 8,700Pa of suction and offers numerous unique features, including full home mapping, voice control, and smart path-planning to avoid obstacles and cleans around furniture. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive, with rotating mops that actually lift and scrub the floor as opposed to just dragging the pad across it. The mops can be cleaned and dried at the base station, if required.

The robot is simple to setup and use, with a simple interface that guides you through the procedure. It also comes with a hand vacuum which can be used to clean hard-to reach areas that the robot can't reach. There are also two water tanks that can be automatically emptied or filled. It has a variety of settings that can be used to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.

The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does a good job at vacuuming, with a strong suction that effortlessly picks up all kinds of debris, including the tiny dust particles that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are decent, but it can be stuck on small mats and rugs around my home (which you can reduce by creating virtual boundaries within the app). Its mopping capabilities are also excellent, with a pair spinning mop pads that are able to lift and scrub floors instead of simply drag the pad across it. The mops can also be cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station whenever required. The mops are also replenished at the top of the station if required.

3. Dreame X40 ultra

Dreame released the luxe X30 Ultra earlier this year however their latest flagship robot mop and vacuum has more impressive features. It boasts fantastic cleaning results and hands-free maintenance, making it a clear contender for our top mop and robot vacuum list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart detection and a larger side brush ensure that an effective, customized cleaning is achieved.

The X40 Ultra vacuums well, removing both fine and large debris. It works equally well on carpets and hard floors. It cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests efficiently, avoiding pet hairs and other mess. The sweeping capability of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush which automatically moves out to get into areas that are difficult to reach and mop pads that run along baseboards.

Its navigation is intelligent that can navigate small spaces and negotiating stairways without stepping back. It can move from one area to another without changing direction it is a useful feature for larger homes with several rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is less advanced than the ones of other competitors, and leaves a huge space over obstacles. This could lead to miss-hit spots.

The app is streamlined, intuitive interface that should be user-friendly for both new and experienced users. The app allows you to schedule and manage cleaning tasks. You can also adjust the suction power, mop settings, and look up 3-D and 2-D maps. It can be controlled via the app, Alexa or Google Assistant. You can even use the X40 Ultra's camera remotely, for real-time video monitoring. However, you will require a reliable Wi-Fi connection to operate it via the app and external controls.

4. Roomba Q5 pro

A robot vacuum does a great job of removing dirt and debris however, it's not able to reach every last particle of dust. It's essential to clean your home regularly, once a week. This is especially true for dust that builds up in corners, on shelves and in crevices in your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robot designed specifically for this purpose. It's simple to connect to your home Wi-Fi network and integrates with Alexa and Apple Siri, making it an even more practical addition to your routine of cleaning.

The Q5 is a stripped down version of the more expensive S-series models from the company, such as the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It uses the same LIDAR mapping sensors, but it's cheaper since it doesn't have mopping capabilities and has an aluminum body.

Although it's no longer able to mop floors, the Q5 still offers the most impressive mopping and vacuum performance we've seen on a robot in this price range. It's got a powerful suction power of 5500Pa and an auto-empty system, which means you don't need to empty the bin manually every time. It comes with a smart app which allows you to schedule cleanings and choose the floor type. It also comes with an automatic water tank filling system and washing system to allow hands-free operation.

Its mops are also impressive with its 2700Pa power that can take on pet hair and dirt on carpets and hard flooring. The Q5 is one of the few robots we test that didn't have problems with carpets with high piles or area carpets, but it didn't remove cables or kitty litter, which is no surprise given that it doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance.

5. K10 Plus

K10 Plus is the quietest robovac we have ever tested. It also features an innovative mapping system that helps it reach tight spaces and corners that other vacuums can't. It also is able to collect more dust in the larger bin, meaning that you don't have to empty it as often. It also has washable filters which reduces the cost. The robot is also able to detect carpets and boost the suction if needed. The app also lets you to mark off areas you want to stay clear of this is a useful feature.
